Comparison of NSS Corrosion Resistance Performance between Tangshan Yuantai Derun Galvanized Zinc-aluminum-magnesium Square Tube and Traditional Galvanized Square Tube
Artificial salt spray test includes neutral salt spray test, acetic acid salt spray test, copper salt accelerated acetic acid salt spray test, and alternating salt spray test.
The neutral salt spray test (NSS test) is one of the most widely used accelerated corrosion test methods. It uses a 5% sodium chloride solution, with the solution pH adjusted to the neutral range (6～7) as the spray solution. The test temperature is 35℃, and the salt spray deposition rate is required to be between 1～2ml/80cm².h.
After undergoing 48 hours of NSS neutral salt spray test (equivalent to 2 years in a natural environment), the surface rating of the new galvanized zinc-aluminum-magnesium square tube product from Tangshan Yuantai Derun Steel Pipe Co., Ltd. is grade 8, with a defect area ratio of 0.15%~0.2%, appearance grade B (almost no darkening caused by coverage layer corrosion), and slight discoloration on the sample surface. The surface rating of the common galvanized square tube product is grade 1, with a defect area ratio of 35%~45%, appearance grade I (cracked), and signs of base metal corrosion on the sample. According to the comparative test, the new galvanized zinc-aluminum-magnesium square tube product from Tangshan Yuantai Derun Steel Pipe Co., Ltd. has far better environmental corrosion resistance performance than the common galvanized square tube product.
